An Update from Adult and Continuing Education

May is full of excitement in the Adult and Continuing Education Division. At the Commencement ceremonies held May 12, 2007, more than 60 adult learners were awarded degrees in nursing, accounting, management, organizational leadership and development (BOLD), liberal arts and healthcare leadership.

The Anthony T. Basil Award was given to Christine A. Shore, a nursing major from Steubenville, Ohio. The Award is for achieveing the highest academic average in the Adult and Continuing Education Division. Bobbie Jo Burdette received the award for second highest academic average. Burdette is a nursing major from Given, West Virginia.

At the Senior Awards Banquet held on Thursday, prior to Commencement, Barbara A. Wilgosz from Charleston, West Virginia, was given the Outstanding BOLD student award. Also at the banquet, Sunni L. Burnett of St. Clairsville, Ohio, received the Life-Long Learning Award for Evening Division registered nurses.

The Adult and Continuing Education Division is now in full swing of Summer Sessions. Three sessions are being offered this summer with over 40 courses in a variety of subjects. Courses are being offered both on and off campus as well as online.
