WHEELING, WV, Sept. 21, 2009 — Candace Wise ’08, began first-year studies at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) in Lewisburg, W.Va. on Aug. 6, 2009.

The daughter of Bud and Terri Coleman of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., Wise earned an undergraduate degree in biology while at Wheeling Jesuit University. She is married to Stephen Wise.
Wise was a member of the Deans List, Alpha Epsilon Delta, Beta Beta Beta, and Alpha Mu Gamma honor societies here at the university. She also received the Gloriam Award, the Father Gannon Scholarship, the SMART grant and the PROMISE Scholarship.
Upon successful completion of the WVSOM medical education program, Wise will graduate as an osteopathic physician in May 2013. She will then enter into an internship/residency training program in the medical specialty of her choice.
Many WVSOM graduates pursue a career in primary care such as, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics or Obstetrics-Gynecology.
