WHEELING, W. Va. - Wheeling Jesuit University alumni from the 2013 reunion class have selected 10 of their peers for induction in the Hall of Honor during Alumni Weekend festivities in June.
Created by the University's Alumni Council, the Hall of Honor provides alumni with a voice to recognize former classmates, faculty and staff for their contributions to their profession, society and the greater WJU community.
The 2013 HOH inductees include:
Linda McAlarney Cunningham ‘63
Brian McCagh ‘68
Robert Hutchings ‘73
Jesse Corning ’78
Rev. Anthony Cincinnati ‘83
Joseph Laker, Ph.D., former history professor selected by the class of 1988
Roseanna Dakan Keller ‘93
Peter Ehni, Ph.D., physics professor selected by the class of 1998
Remy Munasifi ‘03
Adrienne Greene Tharp ‘08
The 2013 Hall of Honor induction marks the fourth year each anniversary class had the opportunity to nominate and induct one person. While WJU has several awards given to alumni, only those graduates celebrating a reunion determine the selection of Hall of Honor inductees.
"I would like to congratulate all of the 2013 Hall of Honor winners. Alumni Council looks forward to honoring each recipient this year during Alumni Weekend," said Dick Riley '84, president of Alumni Council.
Members of the Hall of Honor will be recognized at the President's Dinner during Alumni Weekend 2013. Events for the Weekend take place June 22-24 on the Wheeling Jesuit campus.
"What makes selection into the Hall so special is that each person is chosen by his or her classmates," said Kelly Klubert '85, director of alumni relations. "This year's HOH class has representatives from business, education, social services, research, athletics, health care, entertainment and religious life."
