WJU Dean of the School of Health Sciences, Dr. Maryanne Capp said, “What sets our MSN program a part from many is that our curriculum not only focuses on courses in nursing, it also provides courses that ground students in Jesuit educational principles like care for the whole person. WJU's MSN in nursing education looks at the core issues as they related to health care in today's society - this course of study teaches students to look at the big picture.”
She added, “Three courses in particular - Health Care Policy and Politics, Health Care Delivery Systems & Economics and Health Promotion - are at the core of the Wheeling Jesuit program. Additionally, the masters in nursing education is rigorous with clinical hours in many specialized areas that include family health, urology, women's health, pediatrics and geriatrics, which covers the entire spectrum of family health.”
Nurse educators or nursing instructors are a necessity to any health or clinical organization. Colleges and universities also hire nurse educators to train nursing students for nursing careers.
