POSITION SUMMARY: The Immersion Trips Coordinator is responsible for organizing coordinating, and leading the Appalachian Institute's Immersion Trips throughout West Virginia. The week-long trips include both Experiential Education and Direct Service style trips dealing with issues related to energy, the environment, health care, economics, Appalachian culture, disaster relief, substandard housing, and advocacy. The goal of the trips is to build a network of individuals and organizations dedicated to finding and implementing learning experiences. The Coordinator will also be training other group leaders to assist in implementing immersion experiences, providing monthly service experiences and educational programming for WJU students and employees, and evaluation and development of trip programming.
