TITLE:   Curriculum Writer

DEPARTMENT:  Center for Educational Technologies (CET)

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Earned bachelor’s degree or MS preferred in education or a relevant science field; five or more years related experience preferred.
• Science teaching experience preferred at middle or high school level, or related experience in curriculum development and use.
• Excellent writing, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to be self-motivated and autonomous while working in a team environment to meet deadlines.

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Center for Educational Technologies (CET) at Wheeling Jesuit University is seeking an energetic and innovative individual to assist in developing web-based curricular materials for various audiences. The CET is home of the NASA-sponsored Classroom of the Future – NASA’s premier center for research and development of educational technology, and is also funded by NSF, NOAA, NIH and NIOSH.
  
Successful candidate will join a passionate team with a track record of successful educational technology research and development projects in STEM education.  In 2010, the CET will create high school level web-based curricula and simulations in astronomy, earth science, physics, biology and health.

MAJOR DUTIES:
• Develop curriculum materials for web-based and multimedia products and simulations.
• Collaborate with project teams in the development of deliverables, including presentations, reports, and proposals.
• Support review of educational projects developed elsewhere.
