QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD, DEd, or EdD for tenure consideration required.
- Eligibility for West Virginia physical therapy license.
- Effective skills in communication, delegation, fiscal management and supervision are essential to the operations and ongoing development of the academic program and faculty development.
- Candidates require the vision, leadership, knowledge and organizational skills to assist the program and the university in its positioning as the provider of excellent health care education for the world-wide community of the 21st century.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Physical Therapy teaches as well as working closely with the faculty and university’s administration in the management and strategic planning of the program.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- The Director teaches, utilizing our unique curriculum of Problem-Based Learning approach as well as service learning to facilitate the acquisition and application of the professional skills of physical therapy.
- Supervises and oversees operations and ongoing development of the academic program and faculty.
- Works closely with faculty and university administration in the management and strategic planning of the Physical Therapy program.
- Manages the Department of Physical Therapy budget.
- Works closely with university community as well as with community partners.
- Attends periodic meetings with the stakeholders.
POSITION TYPE: 12 month faculty contract
