POSITION OPENING: Maintenance Technician    DEPARTMENT: Physical Plant

SUMMARY:  The Maintenance Department has the responsibility of maintaining and repairing campus buildings and all building systems including HVAC, electrical, fire alarm,  and plumbing systems, boilers, outdoor lighting and carpentry.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Associates degree or Department of Labor Training Certification preferred.
• Two to four years related experience required.  
• Strong troubleshooting abilities or specialized training and strong mechanical skills with experience in commercial HVAC, electrical systems to 480 volt 3 phase, fire alarm equipment, plumbing, boiler systems, and general carpentry.  
• State of West Virginia Electrician License and HVAC Refrigerant License are preferred. 
• Must demonstrate competence working in a team environment, customer service orientation, and show concern for order, quality, and accuracy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Inspect and repair hot water boilers.
• Inspect and repair HVAC systems.
• Install, alter, maintain and repair plumbing systems.  
• Inspect and repair refrigeration.
• Rough and finish carpentry.  
• Maintain all aspects of University buildings and properties.
