TITLE:  Market Research Analyst/Partnership Development Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS:  Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  MBA preferred.  Business and market research background with the ability to grasp basic technical information.

POSITION SUMMARY: The position of Market Research Analyst/Partnership Development Specialist focuses on the facilitation of governmental and industrial partnership development and using market research to determine which technologies have the greatest potential for partnership development.  Reviewing and analyzing technologies that have business capabilities are extremely relevant to this position.

MAJOR DUTIES 
• Evaluate technology’s market potential based on parameters of market research and analysis, and recommends commercialization partners for client’s new technology based on analyses.
• Track projects and company contacts while relating to partnership development activities and projects.  Facilitate partnership development by contacting companies, disseminating information, obtaining confidentiality agreements and continued follow-up with potential partner and innovator to move partnership forward.
• Provide agreement development for NTTC clients. This includes evaluation of agreement application, working with partners to development statements of work for cooperative research, and enabling partners to proceed with agreement process.
• Engage in secondary research utilizing commercial databases, trade journals, and Internet resources t  obtain market, financial, and product information; resolve data conflicts; unearth bias; obtain and evaluate financial estimates; and assemble data fragments to explain relationships.
• Interview primary research sources to obtain information unavailable from secondary sources and to validate information gleaned from secondary sources.
• Perform other duties related to technology transfer that require specific knowledge and expertise.
