1.0 PURPOSE
Wheeling Jesuit University employees are expected to perform their job duties in the time allotted free from unnecessary outside interference.
2.0 POLICY STATEMENT
2.1 Wheeling Jesuit University employees are not permitted to solicit for any purpose or to distribute materials or literature of any kind to other employees in work areas when either employee is on work time.
- "Work time" does not include authorized break periods, meal times, or other periods during the workday when the employee is authorized not to be engaged in the performance of assigned work duties.
- "Work area" does not include the lunch/break rooms.
2.2 Violation of these rules will subject an employee to appropriate corrective discipline.
3.0 AUTHORIZATION
The Director of Human Resources has the authority to change, modify or approve exceptions to this policy at any time with or without notice and with the approval of the University President.
