David R. Hanna, a native of Wheeling, W.Va., began his career in athletic training in 1996 at West Liberty State College after earning his master's degree in athletic training from West Virginia University. He served as assistant athletic trainer for one year at West Liberty, from which he holds a bachelor's degree in communications with a minor in biology. The following year he accepted the position of head athletic trainer at West Virginia University Institute of Technology. After serving WVU Tech for two years, he moved to South Dakota, where he worked as a trainer for Sioux Valley Hospital, Elk Point Jefferson High School, and the University of South Dakota for a short time.

He then returned to the Ohio Valley to assume the dual position of Head Trainer for the Wheeling Nailers of the East Coast Hockey League and for the Ohio Valley Greyhounds of the Indoor Football League. He spent six years in this position resigning in 2004 to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Wheeling Jesuit University. His additional experience is serving as athletic and clinical trainer for the Wheeling Hospital Physical Therapy Department, and working as the head trainer for various local high schools and numerous local summer sports camps. He holds memberships in the NATA and the APTA, and completed his DPT degree in August 2007. David resides in Wheeling with his wife Carrie and their two daughters Graceylyn Mae, Lilyan Morgan, and son Wilson David.

Dave Dennis is in his 15th year at Wheeling Jesuit University. He became the first full-time athletic trainer at WJU in 1997 and has overseen the growth of the program and the facilities during that time. He became a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) in 1992 while completing his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology at West Virginia University. He completed his graduate degree in Athletic Training at the University of Pittsburgh in 1994. During this time he served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the Pittsburgh Steelers Football Club for the 1992 and 1993 seasons. He is a member of the NATA, MAATA, WVATA and has twice served as the Chair of the WVIAC Athletic Trainers’ Association. Dave is a native of Bruceton Mills, WV.

Kim is in her third year at Wheeling Jesuit University. She completed her M.S. degree in Athletic Training at West Virginia University in 2006, where she fulfilled her graduate assistantship at Grafton High School in Grafton, WV. She received her B.S. degree in Athletic Training at California University of Pennsylvania in 2004 and worked as a student athletic trainer with Division III, Washington and Jefferson College football team. She is a member of the NATA, EATA, and PATS. She is originally from Johnstown, PA and currently resides in Washington, PA with her husband, Fred..

Christina Fanning is the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Wheeling Jesuit University and unofficial strength and conditioning coach for the women’s soccer team. Prior to becoming a member of the Cardinal staff, Christina was a graduate student at California University of Pennsylvania where she worked for the Vulcan soccer, swimming and softball teams. She was raised in the Pittsburgh area and attended California University where she attained a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and subsequently was nationally certified. Christina continued her education at Cal U. and earned her Masters in Exercise and Health Promotion, Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention in 2009. She also has acquired certifications in Pilates, CPR/AED, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Life guarding and the Steven Covey 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Christina began her career in the Pittsburgh area where she worked as an assistant athletic trainer for the Pittsburgh Passions Semi-Professional Women’s Football team, and athletic trainer at Allegheny General Hospitals’ club gym and Herron Recreational Fitness Center. Her duties included an array of services such as nutrition counselor, program designer, aerobics instructor and coordinator of athletic training and strength and conditioning services. Christina aspires to pursue and earn a PhD in Kinesiology and Education.
