Dave Dennis, MS, ATC Department Chair/Clinical Associate Professor
Dave Dennis is in his 24th year at Wheeling Jesuit University. He became the first full-time athletic trainer at WJU in 1997 and has overseen the growth of the program and the facilities during that time. He became a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) in 1992 while completing his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology at West Virginia University. He completed his graduate degree in Athletic Training at the University of Pittsburgh in 1994. During this time he served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the Pittsburgh Steelers Football Club for the 1992 and 1993 seasons. He is a member of the NATA, MAATA, WVATA and has twice served as the Chair of the WVIAC Athletic Trainers' Association. Dave is a native of Bruceton Mills, WV. Dave was named "Athletic Trainer of the Year" for the state of WV in 2009 by the WVATA.
Kim McManis, MS, ATC
Clinical Coordinator of Education/Clinical Assistant Professor
Kim is in her 12th year at Wheeling Jesuit University. She completed her M.S. degree in Athletic Training at West Virginia University in 2006, where she fulfilled her graduate assistantship at Grafton High School in Grafton, WV. She received her B.S. degree in Athletic Training at California University of Pennsylvania in 2004 and worked as an athletic training student with Division III, Washington and Jefferson College football team. She is a member of the NATA, EATA, and PATS. She is originally from Johnstown, PA and currently resides in Rices Landing, PA with her husband, Fred and her two children, Mallory and Maccoy.
Christy is a Wheeling native and is in her 6th year at WJU. Prior to her start here, she spent 7 years in North Carolina high schools, both as a teacher and an athletic trainer as well as 2 years in the clinic setting. She earned a B.S. in Athletic Training and in Exercise Science from Mount Union College in 2002 and an M.A. in Exercise Physiology from East Carolina University in 2004. Christy is also a certified CPR/First Aid instructor and Exercise Specialist.
Jess Battilochi is a 2013 graduate of the Wheeling Jesuit Athletic Training Program. In 2014, she received her Master's in Athletic Training from Ohio University. While obtaining her Master's Degree she was the athletic trainer at Crooksville High School. In fall of 2014 she was the AT for the St.Clairsville High School football team. Jess then worked at Trinity Sports Medicine in Steubenville, OH and was the athletic trainer at Edison High School. Jess enjoys running, lifting, taking naps, and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates. She is from Dillonvale, Ohio. Jess is proud to be the first WJU AT Alumna to be hired back at WJU.
Collin Hudson is from West Liberty West Virginia. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from Wheeling Jesuit University in 2015. During this time, Collin also became a certified athletic trainer (ATC). After graduating from WJU he then went on to pursue his Master's in Athletic Training at West Virginia Wesleyan College. While there, Collin acted as a Graduate Assistant where he covered cross country and track his first year. He then covered women's soccer, golf, men's basketball, and baseball his second year. After graduating from WVWC in 2017 he returned to the Wheeling area to pursue a career in athletic training with his old alma mater.
