Nancy Bressler earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Theatre at Albright College in Reading, PA and her Master of Arts degree in Communication at the University of Hartford. At Bowling Green State University, she received her Ph.D. in Media & Communication and a graduate certificate in Women's Studies. Over the past five years, she has made more that twelve pedagogical presentations at International, National, and Eastern Communication Association conferences focused on active learning in the classroom. Her research interests also focus on the role of media in American culture and how media representations influence and contribute to American identity. In particular, her research investigates to what extent humorous media can be a preeminent genre where interpretations of society and culture can be analyzed, explored and discussed.
