What can you do with a degree in Mathematics?

With your degree in mathematics, you'll not only be valued for your specific mathematical skills, but for your general problem-solving ability. Our graduates have gone on to work in industry as:

  • statisticians
  • actuaries
  • market analysts
  • consultants.

The government has hired mathematics majors for many of the same positions, as well as in agencies such as the FBI and the National Security Agency. Other graduates have entered doctoral programs in:

  • mathematics
  • statistics
  • engineering
  • physical therapy
  • dentistry
  • medicine
  • law
  • forensics.
Furthermore, there is always a shortage of highly qualified mathematics teachers in both public and private secondary schools. If you're interested in teaching, our mathematics and professional education faculty work collaboratively to ensure that you're able to com plete your degree in a timely manner and pursue teaching certification in mathematics.
