Maryanne Capp, DNP, RN

Image of Maryanne Capp.Professor Capp has been a nursing faculty member at Wheeling Jesuit University since 2012. She began her nursing career in 1977 after graduating from the Washington Hospital School of Nursing. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from WJU in 2000 and Master of Science in Nursing Education from Marshall University in 2007. She is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Duquesne University with an anticipated graduation date of August 2016. She recently presented a poster at the McGinley Conference at Duquesne University entitled "Homeless as Victims of Violence" in October 2015 and Nursing Care of Veterans and Their Families for CE credit at the Weirton Medical Center and WJU in September and October 2015.

Professor Capp has worked in ostomy and wound care for many years and is currently employed at the Wound Center at the Weirton Medical Center and holds a certification in Ostomy and Wound Care since 1981. Past experiences include a patient care director for a hospice and executive director for an assisted living and a PACE program. Currently, she is an active volunteer with the street outreach team to provide medical care to the homeless in Wheeling through the Greater Wheeling Coalition for the Homeless. Volunteering for the GWCH allows her to meet people where they are and help them through their health care journey. She is very passionate about caring for the underserved and vulnerable populations.
