Program Overview

Teachers are leaders who understand human growth and development, and who can develop strategies to help all students learn.  Teachers know their subject matter and can communicate it in ways that meet the learning needs of diverse students.  With a wealth of skills, knowledge and expertise, teachers are not only indispensable in the classroom, but are extremely well qualified for a multitude of careers in the ever-changing job market.

  • The Education program at Wheeling Jesuit is built on a high-quality, Jesuit core foundation, and couples our content-rich University course work with early and extensive field experiences in local schools.
  • Wheeling Jesuit’s Bachelor of Arts in Education is designed for undergraduate students seeking teacher licensure.
  • Wheeling Jesuit also offers the Accelerated Certification for Teaching (ACT) Program, an 18-month online pathway for those who already hold a bachelor’s degree and are seeking teacher certification for Grades 5 – Adult.
