Darin S. McGinnis

Dr. McGinnis graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2010 and joined Wheeling Jesuit University in the Fall of 2011.  His dissertation attempted a reconstruction of Nietzsche’s genealogical method through a model provided by Paul Ricoeur’s texts.  His main areas of interest are 20th Century Continental philosophy, especially the works of Deleuze and Foucault, and 19th Century philosophy, especially Schelling and Nietzsche.  He is also interested in the history of philosophical conceptions of nature from Aristotle to the present.

In addition to the core courses, Dr. McGinnis enjoys teaching Modern philosophy, 19th Century philosophy, and 20th Century philosophy.  In his free time, he likes spending time with his family, cooking, hockey, and baseball.
