How will you help me get a job when I graduate?
First we help you identify your unique gifts and the areas in which you can apply them. We help you plan your career. Second, we give you the interpersonal, critical thinking and decision - making skills that allow you to present your strengths effectively. As a Criminal Justice major, you will complete a supervised internship with a justice-related agency. Over the last four years our students have had internships with a variety of criminal justice agencies such as: the U.S. Secret Service and the U.S. Federal Attorney's Office at the national level; state agencies like the Pennsylvania Department of Probation and Parole, the West Virginia Forensic Crime Lab, and the State of Ohio Department of Corrections; and local affiliates including Wheeling Police Department, the Marshall County Sheriffs Department, the New York City District Attorneys Office, and juvenile detention centers such as Youth System Services, Inc. in Wheeling, West Virginia and the Sargus Detention Center in Belmont County, Ohio, among many others. Often these internships lead to a permanent job. We maintain extensive contacts with justice system agencies around the country. We also assist you in preparing resumes, making applications and preparing you for entrance examinations.
