The MASMED program is intended to serve the needs of teachers already in the field. Qualifications for admission to the program include a bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.S. or B.Ed.) from an accredited institution, undergraduate preparation of content and competencies expected for teacher certification and sufficient preparation for advanced undergraduate/graduate course work in science or mathematics. An applicant not currently teaching in the area of science or mathematics will be required to have endorsement by a local school where assignments and projects can be conducted and evaluated in actual classroom situations.
