Alumni Weekend 2009—A Golden Celebration

Dear Friends and Fellow Alumni,

I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for your part in celebrating an important milestone in Wheeling Jesuit’s history! We not only celebrated our first 50th reunion, but your attendance at Alumni Weekend 2009 helped us set new records for our largest alumni event ever!

As an alumna, it was especially gratifying for me to see you return home to spend time with classmates and old friends. I know how elated I feel each time I get to see my former classmates.

Leaving campus on Sunday, I was overwhelmed with emotion as I thought about the many smiles and roars of laughter that I witnessed throughout the dinners and parties – and judging from what I saw, it appeared you had a great weekend. The Wheeling Jesuit community hopes you enjoyed your time back on campus as much as we did – it was truly a remarkable weekend for us all.

To host an event of this magnitude takes a coordinated effort from many, many people. While here, I hope you had the opportunity to meet and talk to the members of our advancement team. Each member of the team played an integral role in helping to make this weekend a success, as well as staff from food service, housekeeping and summer conferences.

Your Alumni Council also deserves a round of applause for their outstanding efforts in planning and volunteering throughout the weekend.

Don’t forget this weekend would not have been the success that it was without you, and your classmates and friends. Thank you . . .

It is an honor for me to serve as your alumni director and be part of the more than 10,000- strong family we call the Wheeling Jesuit Alumni Association. I look forward to seeing you at future reunions, as well as alumni events in your area.
