The Cardinals eliminate WV State in game two. They recorded six hits, including a homerun and two rbi performance from Courtney Kurowski. Vanessa Ilovar continued a four game hitting streak by adding a hit and RBI. Ashley Morris also added a hit and RBI.

Jesuit Lacrosse Wins Third Straight, Improves to 7-3
The Wheeling Jesuit men’s lacrosse team is on a three game winning streak and improves to 7-3 on the season by defeating Division I opponent, University of Detroit Mercy, 14-7 on Saturday. The visiting Cardinals played in front of 703 spectators for UDM’s inaugural season and first-ever home lacrosse game.

WJU Places First at Bel Meadow
Wheeling Jesuit University played a two-day match at Bel Meadow in Clarksburg hosted by West Virginia Wesleyan. The Cardinals came out on top against Wesleyan, Fairmont State, Salem International, West Virginia State, and Glenville. Jackie Elb was medalist and Steffany Krieg came in third. Our next match will be on April 19th and 20th hosted by Seton Hill in Greensburg, PA.

Wheeling Jesuit Men’s Lacrosse led the Lees-McRae Bobcats 7-0 after the first quarter, en route to a 15-3 victory on a sunny Thursday at James LaRosa Stadium. Eight Cardinals registered at least one point, six of whom finished with multiple points.

Sarah Campanelli Places 15th in the Country
Sara Campanelli (So., Gahanna, OH) had a tough race at the National Championship Meet. She ran a 2:19.23 and had a difficult time getting to the outside to make a pass. She placed 15th in the country and the top nine qualified for the final. Her best mark of the season was 2:10.67 which automatically qualified for the Division II National Championships.

Sarah Campanelli to Compete in the Division II National Championships Festival in Houston
Sarah Campanelli (So., Gahanna, OH) and 16 others will be chasing the dream to become a national champion in the women's 800 meter run this weekend in Houston, TX. She currently holds the fourth best Division II time in this event.
Seventeen runners will be split into two heats for the 800 meter prelims on Friday, March 13th at 5:30 pm. Sarah is in the first heat and holds the second best time in the heat. The top three finishers from each heat and the next three best times will determine the nine runners who will advance to Saturday's final at 4:30 pm.

Jesuit Men Knock Off #1 WV State
Charleston, WV, March 5,2009---Wheeling Jesuit slowed down West Virginia State's high-powered attack enough to post an 84-75 stunner in a WVIAC Men's Basketball Tournament quarterfinal. The Cardinals used a 31-12 run midway through the second half to take control as State became the first WVIAC Tournament regular season champion to fall in the tournament quarterfinals since 1997.

University Retires Jackie Ernest Reinbeau's Jersey at Alumni Basketball Events
WHEELING, WV, Feb. 20, 2009 - Wheeling Jesuit University is retiring the jersey of former Lady Cardinal hoop star Jackie (Ernest) Reinbeau Saturday, Feb. 21 just before the women's varsity game against Ohio Valley University.
Tip-off is at 6 p.m. for the ladies. The men play earlier at 4 p.m., also against Ohio Valley. Both games are at the McDonough Center.

Cardinals Inch Past Toppers Harris scores 25 points, Catich has double-double
Steve Catich's turnaround lay-in with 2.2 seconds remaining was Wheeling Jesuit's only field goal in the game's last 6-plus minutes Monday against West Liberty, but it was enough to give the Cards their first victory in the last seven tries against the Hilltoppers, 77-73.
