Assistant Baseball Coach
Brian Dennison is in his second season as an assistant coach for the
Cardinals.
Dennison joined the Cardinal baseball program
shortly after the team’s inception and has been instrumental in
helping to build the program from the ground up. On the field, the
29-year-old assistant is an infield and hitting instructor, as well
as first base coach. His off-field duties include performing the
bulk of the administrative work for the program, including making
travel and meal arrangements and obtaining and maintaining scouting
reports of Wheeling Jesuit opponents.
Before joining the coaching staff at WJU,
Dennison played collegiately at West Liberty State College, where he
garnered starting time at both third base and second base during his
four seasons with the Hilltoppers. He earned a bachelor’s degree
from West Liberty in 2004 with a dual major of business management
and sports management. Following his graduation, he began his
post-playing career by helping out with the 2005 West Liberty
baseball team.
A graduate of Firestone High School in Akron,
Ohio, Dennison was a four-year letterwinner and was named First-Team
All-City as a third baseman during his senior season.
Dennison resides in Wheeling and is currently
pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree at Wheeling
Jesuit. He is engaged to Andrea Thompson; with the couple planning
to marry this summer. |
