Head Coach

Chris Fox becomes the forth-head coach in the eight-year history of the lacrosse program at Wheeling Jesuit University.  Fox is the first former Cardinal to lead the men’s lacrosse team as head coach. Additionally, Fox played under each of the three former head coaches during his playing career at Wheeling Jesuit University.  Fox graduated in 2006 with a B.S. in Business management and a B.A. in Political and Economic Philosophy.  While obtaining his undergraduate degrees Fox also served as vice-chair of SAAC, and was inducted into the National Honor Society in Philosophy.

Last season Fox served as the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Whittier College (Whittier, California).  Fox’s main duties were the development of the young offense and goaltending.  Fox help lead the Poets to four regular season victories.  The most wins the program had seen since 2003. The success of the 2007 season comes after two consecutive seasons without a regular season victory.  The Poets season ended with back-to-back wins, which had not been accomplished since 2001.

Also while in southern California, Fox worked with the Starz Lacrosse Foundation and Adrenaline Lacrosse to promote and develop youth lacrosse in the South Bay area, and expose scholarship opportunities for high school students from the southern California area.

Prior to playing at Wheeling Jesuit University Fox won several provincial championships in box lacrosse in Ontario.  In 2001 while playing with the Wallaceburg Jr. B Red Devils, Fox won the Founders Cup the Canadian National Jr. B Championship.  Fox was recruited to Wheeling Jesuit for his play with the St. Clair Spirits U19 team, were Fox is among the all time leaders in goals, assist, and points.

During his collegiate career at Wheeling Jesuit, Fox played a part in the Cardinals two most successful seasons.  During his freshman campaign, Fox and his teammates became ranked nationally for the first time in program history (9th) and again during his senior year (10th).

Since graduating Fox has attended professional lacrosse tryouts with the L.A. Riptide and Portland Lumberjax.  After attending an NLL Player Combine presented by the USIL, Fox was invited to camps by the Boston Blazers and Buffalo Bandits.

A native of Wallaceburg, Ontario Canada, Fox currently resides in Wheeling W.V.
