Annual Golf Scramble
AnnouncedFor further
information and registration,
contact University athletic
director Danny Sancomb at (304)
243-2366.
John DeBlasis, president of the
Wheeling Jesuit University
Cardinal Athletic Club, has
announced that its Annual Golf
Scramble will be held on
Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the
Arnold Palmer Course at Oglebay
Park.
The event will begin with a
shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., and
dinner will be provided
immediately afterwards.
"The Golf Scramble is one of
three exciting opportunities
which the Club stages each year
to raise funds to support the
scholarship of Wheeling Jesuit's
student athletes," said DeBlasis.
"The Cardinal Athletic Club,
comprised of athletic alumni,
local business leaders, and
other boosters of
intercollegiate athletics at
Jesuit, is determined every year
to raise funds which are
necessary to support the
expenses of a first-rate
Division II athletic program.
For 50 years, Wheeling Jesuit
has been a leader in the West
Virginia Independent Athletic
Conference and has captured
several conference championships
in a variety of sports. Those
student athletes and their
coaches are worthy of our local
support."
Registration for golf, cart and
dinner is $100 and $500 for a
Corporate Foursome, which
includes golf and sponsorship of
a hole.
"This annual gathering and
fellowship in recognition and
support of our athletes and the
University is eagerly
anticipated. There is a long
tradition of success in our
athletic program, and the
support of the Cardinal Athletic
Club and its membership enables
us to continue to support our
student athletes," said Danny
Sancomb, Athletic Director and
Head Men's Basketball Coach.
"This is why our event is among
the most popular benefit golf
outings of the summer season."
