Jim Regan Head Coach
Coach Regan enters his 29th season as head coach of the Cardinals. During these 29 years, Regan has guided the team to a 314-189-46 record. He is responsible for elevating the Men’s program to national prominence, with a top twenty ranking in 2003 and an Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA Division II tournament in 2000.
The Belfast, Northern Ireland native instills in his players a sense of composure and patience for a possession-oriented, attractive style of soccer. His strong work ethic and spirit for competition are exemplified by the efforts of his players on the field.
Regan was inducted into the Bethany Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005 for his achievements on the soccer field after he was a two-time, first team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference selection and helped guide Bethany to four conference titles during his playing career.
During the spring and summer, Regan assumes the role on the board of directors for the Eagles Soccer Club. He is active in area youth soccer programs, setting up various indoor leagues and tournaments, and coaching at soccer camps throughout the United States.
In addition to his head coaching duties, Regan will serve as the academic liaison between the athletic department and faculty. He will also be the consultant and coaching coordinator for local travel and recreational leagues. Regan has coaching certificates from UEFA, the USSF, the Canadian Soccer Association, and sits on the NCAA women’s national soccer committee. Regan resides in Wheeling with his wife, Jill, and their four children. |
