Wheeling Jesuit senior forward Lindsay Getz had 2 goals and an assist Sunday (Sept. 9) as the Cardinals nipped the Eagles, 3-2 in a non-conference women's soccer match at the AU Soccer Complex.

Ashland was in front, 2-1 at halftime. Getz had a goal and an assist in the second half as the visitors pulled away for the win.  The Cardinals are 5-2 while AU falls to 2-3-1.

The Eagles got the first score of the match when Kelly Usher scored her fourth goal of the year at 3:52.  The assist went to Kelly Farrell.

Wheeling tied the match, 1-1 at 29:40 when Getz chipped the ball over the head of keeper Marie Supanich in the box.  Hannah Walker earned the assist.

The Eagles regained the lead, 2-1 on Casey Snyder's fourth goal of the year. That came at 43:17 with the assist going to Hannah Brown.

The Cardinals drew even at 66:56 when Katie Groff took a pass from Getz in the right corner and deposited the ball in the bottom right corner.  The game winner came at 71:12, Getz going 1-on-1 with Supanich and winning the battle. Throughout the second half Getz was able to work free and penetrate deep into the AU side of the field.  The senior took three shots and scored on both of her shots on goal.  She has 5 goals this season.
