WVIAC To Introduce New Identifying Mark, Website
PRINCETON, W.V — The West Virginia
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is
making changes with its identifying mark and
web presence as the 16-member league heads
into the 2007-08 academic year.
The WVIAC has partnered with Freckles
Graphics of Morgantown to create the new
mark for the conference. The refurbished
WVIAC Online is being produced by Internet
Consulting Services of Syracuse, New York.
ICS is the web provider for over 120
collegiate institutions and conferences,
including Big East conference member
Syracuse University. The new website is
expected to be unveiled August 15 and will
still retain the
www.wviac.org address.
"We're excited to put a fresh look on our
public face," said WVIAC associate
commissioner Will Prewitt. "The website
changes, along with the logo redesign, are
going to be a positive for the conference
and our membership. Our old marks were
starting to look a bit dated, so we're
thrilled to be rolling out the updates."
The West Virginia Conference is the largest
conference in the NCAA Division II ranks
with 16 members. The league was founded in
1924 and is headquartered in Princeton, WV.
Championships are offered in 16 men's and
women's sports.
WVIAC membership includes Alderson-Broaddus
College, Bluefield State College, University
of Charleston, Concord University, Davis &
Elkins College, Fairmont State University,
Glenville State College, Ohio Valley
University, University of Pittsburgh at
Johnstown, Salem International University,
Seton Hill University, Shepherd University,
West Liberty State College, West Virginia
State University, West Virginia Wesleyan
College, and Wheeling Jesuit University.
