WVIAC To Introduce New Identifying Mark, Website

PRINCETON, W.V The West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is making changes with its identifying mark and web presence as the 16-member league heads into the 2007-08 academic year.

The WVIAC has partnered with Freckles Graphics of Morgantown to create the new mark for the conference.  The refurbished WVIAC Online is being produced by Internet Consulting Services of Syracuse, New York.  ICS is the web provider for over 120 collegiate institutions and conferences, including Big East conference member Syracuse University.  The new website is expected to be unveiled August 15 and will still retain the address.

"We're excited to put a fresh look on our public face," said WVIAC associate commissioner Will Prewitt.  "The website changes, along with the logo redesign, are going to be a positive for the conference and our membership.  Our old marks were starting to look a bit dated, so we're thrilled to be rolling out the updates."

The West Virginia Conference is the largest conference in the NCAA Division II ranks with 16 members.  The league was founded in 1924 and is headquartered in Princeton, WV.  Championships are offered in 16 men's and women's sports.

WVIAC membership includes Alderson-Broaddus College, Bluefield State College, University of Charleston, Concord University, Davis & Elkins College, Fairmont State University, Glenville State College, Ohio Valley University, University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Salem International University, Seton Hill University, Shepherd University, West Liberty State College, West Virginia State University, West Virginia Wesleyan College, and Wheeling Jesuit University.
