Kurowski, Burkhart Lead Seniors to Win
Wheeling, WV, Apr. 24, 2010---Courtney Kurowski laced a walk-off bases-clearing triple to right field to cap a thrilling Senior Day comeback and lift Wheeling Jesuit to a doubleheader split against Seton Hill Saturday afternoon. Seton Hill won the first game, 5-3, before the Cardinals rallied to capture game two, 5-4, in the seniors’ final home outing.

Vienna, WV, Apr. 21, 2010---In a make-up WVIAC conference series, Wheeling Jesuit split a pair of one-sided victories in a doubleheader with Ohio Valley University. The Cardinals surrendered game one 14-6 only to comeback with a lopsided victory of 13-5.

“Strike Out Cancer” Games Decided by Homeruns
Wheeling, WV, Apr. 17, 2010---Wheeling Jesuit University Transportation Director Denny Grimm, a cancer survivor, kicked off today’s doubleheader against West Virginia State University by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. It was all part of the “Strike Out Cancer” event where both teams wore alternate jerseys for the cause. The event raised in excess of $2,000 for the American Cancer Society.

Lady Cards Use 20 Hits for Sweep
Wheeling, WV, Apr. 14, 2010---Wheeling Jesuit University softball team used ten hits in each game to sweep a doubleheader from Salem International on Wednesday. The Lady Cardinals scored in the seventh for a 6-5 victory in game one and outscored the opponent 9-2 in the late game.

Wheeling, WV, Apr. 13, 2010---On Tuesday, the Wheeling Jesuit softball team dropped two close contests to Alderson Broaddus College with both games being decided in the final inning. The Lady Cardinals outhit the opponent 8-4 in game one and sent five balls over the outfield wall in the nightcap as they fell 4-3 and 11-8.

PRINCETON, WV, Feb. 3, 2010---Traditional power West Virginia Wesleyan is the overwhelming favorite in the 2010 WVIAC softball coaches' pre-season poll. Head coach Steve Warner's Bobcats, who finished ranked No. 17 nationally last season after recording a 45-15 overall record, were the top choice on 13 of 14 ballots.
