Malone and Lucas Lead Cardinals to a 15-3 Win

Wheeling Jesuit Men’s Lacrosse led the Lees-McRae Bobcats 7-0 after the first quarter, en route to a 15-3 victory on a sunny Thursday at James LaRosa Stadium.  Eight Cardinals registered at least one point, six of whom finished with multiple points.  Jack Malone (Jr., Farmington Hills, MI) led the way with a career high 10 points on 3 goals and 7 assists. His previous mark of 9 points was set last year against St. Andrews.

Kyle Lucas (Fr., Dublin,OH) scored 3 goals on the day, while John Miller (Sr., Kent, OH), Eric Jenkins (Jr., Pleasanton, CA) and  Colin Jack (So., Pickerington,OH) scored twice.  Mike Jacques (Sr., Sarnia, Ontario), Phil Mergner (So., Mechanicsville, MD), and Justin Baltzer (Fr., Dublin, OH) scored a goal each.  Jenkins and Miller also added two assists each, while Jack and Mergner each had one helper.

The Cardinals defense was anchored by goalie Joe Sims (Jr., Dublin,OH) and goalie Tony Tatro (So., Suffield,OH), who had 4 and 6 saves respectively.

The Cardinals improve to 4-1 (2-0 at home) with this victory; they return to action this Saturday with a 3:30 game at Seton Hill.
