Senior Inducted into Hall of Fame in Pittsburgh
WHEELING, WV, January, 28, 2009 --- Wheeling Jesuit University senior Hugh Mulvey III was inducted into his high school's Hall of Fame this past weekend. Mulvey's hometown is Pittsburgh, Pa. and he graduated from North Catholic High School. He is the son of Hugh Mulvey, Jr. and Marilyn Mulvey.
Mulvey is the chapter president of Wheeling Jesuit's Alpha Sigma Nu honor society, the national Jesuit honor society. He is also the senior catcher of the WJU Cardinal baseball team, coached by Terry Edwards.
“Hugh was one of the first pieces in the foundation of our inaugural team,” said Edwards. “He's our first student-athlete signed and has been a staple at the catcher position for the last three years. He's going to have a great senior year.”
Additionally, he has been a resident assistant for three years and is currently RA for the freshman building, Campion Hall.
A history major, Mulvey will graduate in May and plans to teach at the high school level in Pennsylvania.
His recent honor was based on sports achievement and other leadership achievements that he's compiled.
