Wheeling Jesuit Softball Falls to IUP
Wheeling Jesuit softball team traveled to Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Saturday and dropped a pair of games by scores of 7-0 and 11-4. IUP scored six runs in the first two frames and added one in the third to come out on top in game 1. The Lady Cards collected four hits with Shaynna Johnson leading the way with a 2-4 performance while Ashley McSweeney and Alecia Sunagel adding the a hit apiece.
In game two, Jesuit crossed the plate four times in the fifth for their only runs. Courtnry Kurowski, Sunagel, and McSweeney all had multiple hits with the rest of the team adding two. McSweeney reached on a double and a single, as well as, reaching on an error. Kurowski added a double and a single while Sunagel had back-to-back singles for six of the eight hits.
The lady Cardinals will travel to Fairmont, WV for a conference doubleheader on Sunday. First pitch will be thrown at 1:00 p.m. |
