Lady Cardinals Drop a Pair Shepherdstown , WV . Mar. 28, 2010---The Lady Cards (3-14, 1-3) lost 1-0 versus Shepherd University (16-4, 4-0) Saturday, in a hard fought defensive battle. The game went to eight innings as Olivia Wamsley pitched a shutout through seven, striking out four until finally giving up the games only run in the eighth. The Lady Cardinals put on a strong effort in the seventh inning as Aleecia Sunagel and Wamsley both singled and Gina Hicks reached on a passed ball; but it was not enough. Shaynna Johnson added two singles to the effort, one of which came in the eighth inning. In the second game, the Lady Cards struggled as they lost 11-2. Shaynna Johnson had a solid effort in the game with a single in the third and an RBI double in the first inning, scoring Samantha Macioce who singled earlier. Jordan Burkhart hit an RBI double in the fifth inning scoring Rachelle Carello who was hit by a pitch earlier in the inning. Angela Petros and Brianna Gatley both added singles in the Cardinals effort.
