New School Record and NCAA Qualifying Mark  at Great Dane Classic Wheeling Jesuit’s indoor track squad competed in the Albany Great Dane Classic last weekend which featured 40 NCAA Division I and Division II teams. Wheeling Jesuit men’s team placed 27th at the highly competitive event while the women finished 23rd. Junior Travis Hamrick set a new indoor school record in the 800 Meter Run for an 8th place finish. Hamrick posted a time of 1:55.46 which replaced the previous mark of 1:55.49 set in 2001 by Jason Mitchell. For his efforts, Travis was named WVIAC Athlete of the Week. On the women’s side, Megan Pratt hit an NCAA Provisional Mark in the weight throw. Pratt launched the weighted ball 16.28 meters which converts to 53’5” while placing fifth in the meet. The mark ranks Pratt 16th in NCAA Division II. In addition, she was unanimously chosen by the WVIAC Track and Field Coaches after a NCAA qualifying weekend at the Albany Great Dane Classic.
