Lady Cardinals Fall to Senators

Wheeling, WV, Feb 4, 2010---Wheeling Jesuit women’s basketball team suffered their sixth conference loss to Davis & Elkins College on Thursday night by a score of 74-68.

The Lady Cardinals never held the lead in the contest, but a late spark from freshman Chrissy Pavlik narrowed the Senator lead to four with 20 seconds left. Pavlik recorded all 14 of her points in the second period, including back-to-back 3-pointers.

Junior Megan Stuvek chipped in 12 points while sophomore Kourtney Booth added 11. Senior Kim Mueller was one rebound away from a double-double as she pulled down nine rebounds and recorded 10 points.

The Lady Cardinals shot 42 percent from the floor on a 25-60 effort, and won the battle of the boards 38-35.

The women will travel to Alderson Broaddus College on Saturday, February 6 in a 5:15 pm tip-off.
