Campanelli Lands on All-Region Team

Mansfield, PA, Nov. 7, 2009---Wheeling Jesuit junior Sarah Campanelli scored an 11th place finish for the top placement by a WVIAC athlete and a spot on the All-Region Team at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Cross Country Regionals in Mansfield, PA.

“I’m very proud of Sarah’s performance; I believe she is the second WVIAC female athlete to ever make the All-Region Team,” Said Head Coach Ricky Moore

Campanelli completed the 6k course at Lamb’s Creek Park in a time of 22:04 to lead the WJU women to a 14th place finish. Freshman Megan Truelove completed the course in 23:07 which was good for a 38th place finish in her first regional race while senior Julia McGinley  came in 68th with a time of 23:55 in her final cross country regional appearance.

“Overall, the women ran really well,” stated Coach Moore.  “They placed higher than all the other WVIAC teams in this regional, and that was their goal after finishing 5th at the conference meet.”
