The Cardinal Men won their second WVIAC title in consecutive years, while the women finished as runner-up for the second straight season. Under Moore’s tutelage the Cardinal harriers broke 9 school records, achieved 8 national qualifying marks, and garnered 1 All-American plaque.
The Cardinals also excelled in the classroom during the 2008 season. The women’s program obtained Academic All-American Team honors, while 2 individuals on the men’s side garnered Academic All-American honors. For his efforts during the 2008 season Moore was recognized as the WVIAC Men’s Coach of the Year and a finalist for the Atlantic Region’s Men’s Coach of the Year.
Before his career as a coach at Wheeling Jesuit University, Moore competed as a student-athlete for the Cardinals. During his tenure at WJU Moore obtained 2 All-American plaques, including a 3rd place finish at the NCAA Indoor 5,000 meters, and 7 Academic All-American certificates. Post collegiately Moore competed professionally for Saucony in events around the U.S., finishing in the top 15 of several major events. Moore graduated from Wheeling Jesuit with a degree in a B.A. in History and he currently resides in Wheeling with his wife Bethany and their son Redick. |
