Network Services Provided by ITS:

By connecting to the WJU Residential Network (ResNet), you will be able to browse the World Wide Web from your room, as well as access local network servers for Email, Blackboard, and Academus.

Note: As a user of the campus network you will be subject to the "Acceptable Use Policies for Computing Resources at Wheeling Jesuit University." This document explains your rights and the proper use of the network.

Computer Support Provided by ITS:

ITS provides detailed, printed, step-by-step instructions for configuring PCs to connect to the campus network. If you are in need of network card installation support, your system must meet the recommendations listed above. There will be a $25.00 service charge for ITS to remove the computer case, install the network card on the main system board, and re-install the case.

ResNet connections can be refused if your system does not meet the specifications listed here.

A 10/100BaseT Ethernet Network Adapter: These are typically built in to most new computers. They can also be purchased separately and installed. Check with your computer's vendor to make sure.

A Category 5 Network Data Cable (approx. 10 feet long): These can be purchased in the Campus Book Store, as well as any local electronics store.

ITS does not provide technical assistance for student computers beyond the network configuration settings. ITS does not troubleshoot or install other types of hardware or software in student computers.
