Library Policies: Community Use
Community Users: are defined as all users who are not currently students or employees of Wheeling Jesuit University. Sign In/Out Policy: “Community Users” are required to sign in and out at the library’s circulation desk. Community Users must present a valid form of identification such as a driver’s license or photo identification card. Library personnel will then complete a log sheet with the individual’s name and time of entry to the library. Community user’s must notify the circulation desk upon their departure so that an exit time can also be logged. Printing: “Community Users” are required to pay for printing. The cost is $.05 cents per double sided page. Payment is based upon the honor system and should be given to library personnel at the circulation desk. Computer Time Limit: Use of computers by “Community Users” is limited to one hour per day. In addition, during peak student use, the library reserves the right to request community users vacate a computer for a student. Use by Minors: Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Local teachers referring their students to the library should notify the library or provide the students with some type of written document that can be presented to library personnel. It is recommended that local teachers visit the library with their classes. General Public Borrowing Policy: Access to items is restricted to in library use only for the general public. Members of the Community are encouraged to utilize the Interlibrary Loan Program via Ohio County Public Library or their local community library. |
