Bishop Hodges Library has two Group Study Rooms available for college-related use by students, faculty, and university employees.
Use Rules:
- Limited to use for college-related activities by students, faculty, and university employees.
- Groups have priority when using study rooms. Individuals are asked to use other areas in the library to study. Individuals may be asked to leave a group study room in order to accommodate a study group.
- Patrons should register at the Circulation Desk with a Cardinal Card and obtain the key to open the study room door. Patron’s Cardinal Cards will be held at the Circulation Desk until the Study Room Key is returned.
- Rooms may be “checked out” for a maximum of 2 hours at a time.
- Maximum occupancy of six people per room.
- Patrons can make advance reservations in person or by calling the library Circulation Desk @ (304)243-2226. Advance reservations will be canceled if a patron does not appear within 15 minutes after their reservation time.
Patrons should provide the following information:
- Upon exiting a study room, a patron should remove all personal items, close and lock the door, and return the key to the Circulation Desk to retrieve their Cardinal Card. Group Study Room Keys may not be removed from the building. Loss of a Group Study Room Key, will result in charges for replacement of the key. The library assumes no responsibility for items left in a Group Study Room.
- Study Room A – has a computer and white board. Study Room B – has a computer and chalk board. Dry erase markers and chalk are available at the Circulation Desk.
- All patrons must exit Group Study Rooms within 15 minutes of the library closing.
- During “Finals Week”, Group Study Rooms may remain open for use, but patrons must return keys by 11:45 PM. If the doors to the study rooms are accidentally locked, the security guard on duty may unlock the Group Study Room with the key.
