"Holds" allow you to queue for books that are checked-out. Books that are checked-out, on which you place a hold, cannot be renewed by the current borrower.

To place a hold:

• Bring up on the screen the book title and author. A "Copy Material Location" at the bottom of the screen will show "CHECKEDOUT."
• Click on Request (upper right screen area), click on Request Module.
• Click on Place Holds.
• Enter your Cardinal Card ID number in the User ID box.
• The Book Number will have been entered automatically for you.
• Click on "Place Request."

Library staff will notify you when the book becomes available for you.
