Basic Guidelines for Borrowing Library
Circulating Resources
Borrowing Library Materials
The University Cardinal Card must be used for all library transactions.
The borrowing period for books in the General Collection is three weeks.
There is no limit to the number of books that may be borrowed at one time from the General Collection by students.
Books may be renewed once unless there is a "hold" on them. (When necessary this condition may be waived).
The borrowing period for Reserves is designated by the faculty. Only one Reserve item may be borrowed at one time, unless the material is to be checked out for a very short period of time.
Reference books and research periodicals are restricted to library use only. Some general magazines can be checked out for recreational reading (inquire at the Circulation Desk for title list).
Senior Thesis Extended Borrowing Privilege
Seniors working on their thesis may borrow up to ten books for an extended period. Books may be checked out through this program for the entire semester. Faculty permission is required. Please use the form provided. Borrowing Privilege Form Note: Individual titles may be subject to a three week recall, should a "Hold" be placed on a particular title. Returning Library Materials Books must be returned to the circulation desk. Books left on the library tables are not considered returned, therefore, please return books to the circulation desk. The book drop should be used only when the library is closed. Library Fines and Replacement ChargesOverdue notices are sent weekly. Overdue Fines:Reserves $.25 per day Interlibrary Loans $5.00 per dayReplacement ChargesBorrowers who have overdues for 4 weeks will be charged for the cost of the book, plus a $10 processing fee. Borrowers who have damaged or lost a book will be charged for the replacement plus the $10 processing fee. |
