Group Study Rooms may be reserved for use by the hour, with a two hour limit. Rooms may be renewed if there is no waiting list. Maximum occupancy is six persons. Groups may reserve a room in advance. Groups have priority when using the rooms on a drop-in basis. Individuals are welcome to use a group study room when it is not needed for group study. Library staff may occasionally need to ask an individual to leave a group study room, in order to accommodate study groups. To use a group study room students must register at the Circulation Desk and obtain a key to open the door. Cardinal Card Student ID is requested.

Meetings: University affiliated persons and groups may reserve the Rare Book for use as a meeting place. Regularly recurring meetings should not be scheduled in the Rare Book Room. Student groups may only meet in the Rare Book Room if a faculty member is present. Limited covered drinks are allowed during meetings.
Classes: Information literacy classes may be held in the Rare Book Room. Instructors may reserve the room for a class period on a one-time basis. No regularly recurring class meetings are to scheduled in the Rare Book Room.
Security: The door is to be kept locked when the Room is not in use. Cases with locks need to be kept locked when not in use. Researchers should sign-in, stating their name, address, and institutional affiliation (WJU Cardinal Card holders only need to sign their name). No materials are to leave the building without special permission.
Preservation: A full-time staff member must be present when researchers access the collection. Researchers should be given a general orientation. Fragile materials should be handled only by a staff member. No photocopying of fragile materials should be allowed. Books with brittle bindings should not be photocopied. Pencils are to be provided for note taking purposes. Pens should not be used when researchers consult rare and fragile volumes and manuscripts. Fragile materials may not be used outside the Rare Book Room. No food or drink is allowed when accessing materials housed in the Rare Book Room.
