What to Bring

All students, including those planning to commute to campus for classes in the fall, are strongly encouraged to stay on campus during the one night of New Student Orientation. Family guests are also encouraged to stay overnight in campus housing (for an additional $25 fee) so they can experience residence life! Families may also elect to make their own arrangements to stay at a local hotel during their stay in Wheeling.

If staying in campus housing:

  • Housing is provided in air-conditioned halls-please bring a blanket if you are prone to being chilly in air conditioned rooms.
  • Guests need to BRING A PILLOW. No pillows are provided.
  • Twin bed linens and a towel are provided.
  • Additional items to bring: Alarm clock, sleep ware, change of clothes for Day 2, and toiletries.
  • Students will be sharing a bathroom with other students - they may want to bring shower shoes. Family members will be in rooms with private bathrooms.
  • Students and family members will be housed separately - be sure to pack separate bags.

Dress for the duration of New Student Orientation is casual - we want you to be comfortable! Sessions rooms will be air-conditioned so guests may want to dress in layers.

Due to the nature of the program, children are not encouraged to attend.
