Leadership changed at Wheeling Jesuit University on Aug. 5, 2009 when the Board of Trustees announced the departure of President Julio Giulietti, S.J. The Rev. Julio Giulietti, S.J. was the eighth President of the University.

The Presidential Search Committee was then selected by the Board of Directors and began the work of finding a new President for the University to continue our mission of "educating students for life, leadership and service."

The first meeting of the Search Committee took place on Aug. 31.
