Wheeling Jesuit University Music Program
- Wheeling Jesuit University's growth plan includes the revival of its fine and performing arts with the music program being a major contributor. The University is seeking music-minded students to participate and actively contribute to our University's instrumental band programs! Through Wheeling Jesuit's partnership with River City Brass (RCB) of Pittsburgh, student musicians will have the opportunity to perform on campus and throughout the Wheeling area under the direction of world famous Dr. James Gourlay. Maestro Gourlay facilitates the River City Brass and Wheeling Jesuit University Summer Brass Band Camp held annually in July. He also directs the Wheeling Jesuit University Symphonic Band and assists with coordination of our Pep Band.
-
- Whether you are a music or non-music major interested in performing at an exceptional level beyond high school, we encourage you to get involved in our band programs by applying for a Symphonic and or Pep Band Music Award. Students can also receive academic credit for their participation. Our bands have ample opportunities for brass, woodwind and percussion musicians as well as opportunities in the Symphonic Band for orchestral string instrumentalists.
Applicants will have the opportunity to audition for a Music Award or Scholarship at their New Student Orientation program at the end of June; auditions will take place at the end of Day 2 of the program. Applicants will receive more information about the auditions in mid-June. Fill out the application to schedule your audition.
