International Band Camp
July 9th- 13th, 2013

Brass players, conductors and band directors (aged 15 or older) are invited to join us for our first annual River City Brass/Besson International Summer School on the campus of Wheeling Jesuit University. Located right off Interstate 70, Wheeling Jesuit University is ideally situated for those living in the Tri-State area, as well as those needing access to nearby Pittsburgh International Airport. This unique partnership of three amazing institutions will offer an inspiring experience for all levels of musicians. 

This fun, engaging, overnight summer school will provide talented musicians an opportunity to enhance their musical skills under the direction of James Gourlay, international star Roger Webster (cornet/trumpet), David Childs (Euphonium) and principals drawn from the River City Brass. Participants will enjoy in a variety of informative and exciting activities, including group and individual master classes, sectional rehearsals and final Gala Concert conducted by Dr. James Gourlay, one of the world’s leading authorities on brass playing. You’ll learn from the some of the world’s finest brass musicians, and experience a week of living and learning on a college campus.

Register online by July 2, 2013. Check-in begins early evening on Tuesday, July 9th and concludes with an early afternoon performance on Saturday, July 13th. Transportation to and from the Pittsburgh International Airport is available for participants arriving July 9th before 3:00pm and departing July 14th after 10:00am.
