- Symphonic Band
- Begun in the fall of 2011 and growing every year, the Wheeling Jesuit University Symphonic Band invites student instrumentalists who want to enhance their university experience by making music. Participation in the Symphonic Band allows students to actively contribute to the campus culture and to grow in the universal language of music. The Symphonic Band is open to brass, woodwind, string and percussion instrumentalists.
-
- The Symphonic Band is under the direction of renowned conductor and musician Dr. James Gourlay, director of instrumental music and university bands at WJU. Maestro Gourlay also is music director of Pittsburgh’s popular River City Brass, which performs throughout the world. Through Wheeling Jesuit’s partnership with the River City Brass, members of this professional band join the WJU Symphonic Band for joint concerts on campus each semester.

- Pep Band
- The WJU Pep Band provides music to excite the crowds at athletic events, spreading Cardinal pride across campus. A crowd favorite at all home volleyball and basketball games, the Pep Band also performs at special events and local parades throughout the academic year.
