Through Wheeling Jesuit's partnership with River City Brass (RCB) of Pittsburgh, you will have the opportunity to perform on campus and throughout the Wheeling area under the direction of the world famous James Gourlay. 
 
As part of the partnership, Gourlay directs the Wheeling Jesuit Symphonic Band and assists with the Pep Band. Whether you are a music or non-music major interested in performing at an exceptional level beyond high school, we encourage you to audition. The Symphonic Band contains lower brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. You will have the opportunity to perform in three to four concerts per year with River City Brass on and off campus. Our Pep Band performs regularly at athletic and special events. You may join either ensemble as an extra-curricular activity or for academic credit.
 
Through the music program at Wheeling Jesuit, you will have opportunities to perfect your musical skills and learn from one the world's most experienced musicians. Gourlay has led one of the world's top brass bands, the UK-based Grimethrope Colliery Band, has toured the world with Philip Jones and English Brass Ensembles and has recorded multiple soloist CDs, all of which have garnered international critical acclaim.
