Sara Tracy Hall houses primarily first-year students in both single and double rooms. Each floor is arranged in intersecting short hallways housing 16-24 students who share a common bathroom. Residence in Sara Tracy also have access to the lounges and study rooms in Kirby Hall. Sara Tracy Hall enjoys the relative quiet of being removed from other residential areas on campus. Its residents enjoy convenient access to the chapel and Swint Hall which houses Student Affairs, the Mailroom and Dining Services.

Each room has two of the following: beds, desks, study chairs, closets, bureaus, mirrors, and wall lights. The room also has a ceiling fan and a small wastebasket. The mattresses are regular twin size. There is a community shower shared by the residents of the floor. Most of the rooms do not have carpet. The color of the walls is eggshell.
There are washers and dryers on each floor. Laundry services are provided free to residents only.
There is a TV located in the 24 hour lounge, the only area where residents can have male visitors once visitation hours are over, located at the entrance of Kirby Hall.
Each room has access to telephone service. These services are provided as a part of the Housing Contract.

A vending area is located in the 24 hour lounge. Soft drinks, snacks, and change are available in the vending room.
There is a small kitchen area located in the 24 hour lounge that contains a sink, microwave, refrigerator, and a stove. This space is available to all residents of the building.
