Facts About Math

The Program
Wheeling Jesuit University's Mathematics major prepares students to enter graduate school and prepare for careers that demand strong logical and analytical skills that are uniquely provided through the study of courses that we offer.

Recent graduates of our mathematics program include an actuary in the insurance field, a financial and personnel analyst for a college, a statistician with the National Center for Disease Control and teachers in middle school, high school and college. Many of our alums have advanced degrees in law, physical therapy, engineering, computer science and statistics, as well as mathematics. We encourage students to design a personal education plan that best meets their professional goals. Many students combine mathematics major with a minor in business, physics, chemistry or computer science to achieve these goals.
